Our Product

Our plastic handrail covering is available in five sizes and a range of 14 colourways. Strong, stylish and practical with colours and finishes that will enhance any staircase. They also meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act for ramped access.

We are the main stockist and distributor of Rehau profiles in the UK and can deliver next day on a supply only basis.

DDA Building Regulations

Our plastic handrail can easily comply with the requirements of the DDA Building Regulations, (Part M – Access to and Use of Buildings 2004 Edition) specifically:

It contrasts visually with the background against which it is seen, without being highly reflective
It is continuous across the flights and landings of ramped or stepped access
Its profile is either circular with a diameter of between 40 and 45mm or oval preferably with a width of 50mm
Its surface is slip resistant and not cold to the touch
It terminates in such a way that reduces the risk of clothing being caught.

Maintenance

PVC handrail covering in the main is maintenance free provided the rails have been fabricated correctly and the plastic covering has been fitted by a specialist company.

Periodically, the capping can be wiped with a damp cloth to remove any dust that could have collected.

Should any stretching or movement have occurred due to normal wear, tear, and usage by the public then the covering should be attended to by a specialist firm in this field who will put right the problem.
